This project began when I painted my co-worker, Noel, in my free time while working at IceStone LLC. Noel oversees the process of casting concrete countertops at IceStone LLC. After my boss saw Noel's portrait she commissioned me to paint portraits of each employee of the month. The portraits recognize the employees for their dedication and unique talents as co-workers and friends.

I mix the paint myself using mixed metal oxide pigments used in the factory to color the concrete. I either stretch the canvas myself or paint on detritus. Enameled sheet metal is one of my favorite materials I've found to paint on.
